Cultural Programme during the 9. IKF

The cultural programme is specially addressed to the accompanying persons of the 9. IFK. Parallel to the regular conference, some beautiful places and objects of cultural interest in the region of Aachen will be visited. (Please consider the restricted contingent.)

The historical district of Aachen, Cathedral and „Printen“

On the first day the focus lies on Aachen and its historical district, its cathedral and its “Printen”. Starting with a guided tour, which gives an insight into the history of one of the most interesting cathedrals in Western Europe. In the following, we will proceed with the treasury of the cathedral, which is considered the most important clerical treasury north of the Alps. In the afternoon a “Printen-bakery” will be visited, where the ingredients as well as the baking process will be explained in detail. The program will come to an end around 3.30 p.m.

Schloss Drachenburg (castle) in Königswinter and Winetasting


On the second day we take you to Schloss Drachenburg in Königswinter. You will ride to the castle with the historical Drachenfelsbahn, the oldest still active rack railway. After a guided tour through the castle, we take you to a wine tasting on one of the regional vineyards with a rich tradition.
